A total 152 vacancies have been announced for the post of Male Homeguard Volunteer (पुरुष होमगार्ड स्वयंसेवक). Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of application (22-05-2026). Only permanent residents of Dehradun district are eligible to apply. Domicile proof issued by competent authority of Dehradun will be required.

The selection process consists of 3 successive stages -
- Physical Measurement (qualifying)
- Physical Efficiency Test (30 marks)
- and final Merit List (60 marks total including bonus marks)
Medically fit candidates from the final merit list will be selected.
Candidates failing physical measurement are declared unfit at that stage itself and removed from the selection process.

Selected candidates will undergo medical examination by Chief Medical Officer / Principal Medical Officer. Vision must be 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other (without glasses). Candidates must be free from flat foot, knock-knee, bow-leg, varicose veins, deformities, or any disability that interferes with duty.
Applications are to be submitted offline mode - either in person or by post - on the prescribed form. The form is available on the Facebook page Uttarakhand Home Guards and from the office notice board, Nanda Ki Chowki, Chakrata Road, Dehradun. Hard copy applications duly filled must be submitted to the office on any working day from 01.05.2026 to 22.05.2026 (by 11:59 PM).
